Nutrition Classes
In an effort to enhance the support we provide to our gardeners and strengthen our program outcomes, GPGP has partnered with Share our Strength’s Operation Frontline, to provide nutrition-based cooking classes to current and potential gardeners in the communities we serve. The benefits of attending the classes include the following:
- Courses promote making the healthiest food choices possible, even with limited resources.
- Instructors teach lifelong cooking skills, practical nutrition information and food budgeting strategies that participants can use right away and take into the future.
- Participants receive groceries at the end of each class to practice the recipes they’ve learned at home.
(All of the food for this program is being donated by Hannaford’s Supermarkets.)
- In addition, all participants will be provided with a detailed manual containing all of the information you’ve learned in our classes, as well as a gift bag including food and accessories participants can immediately put to use in their own kitchens!
We’re excited to bring this program to the communities we serve because it aligns perfectly with our mission to address food insecurity issues by providing people with the life-long skills and education they need to become self-sufficient.
