GPGP founders Kate Deyst and Cindy Buhner are both dedicated vegetable gardeners. Kate spent 13 years as a researcher in the biomedical sciences. She has been involved with a variety of other local non-profit organizations, including Sylvia's Haven and is a board member of The Food Project. Cindy spent 18 years in the high tech industry both as an engineer and a manager, and has served on the board of WHEAT.
